Summary

Description
English: Mauritanian bryoliths are impressive examples of a mutualistic symbiosis between a hermit crab and encrusting bryozoans. Providing a cirumrotatory growth the bryozoan colony (Acanthodesia commensale) offers the crab (Pseudopagurus granulimanus) a helicospiral-tubular extension of its living chamber that once was situated within an initial gastropod shell.
