Imitation

Imitation (from Latin imitatio, "a copying, imitation"[1]) is an advanced behavior whereby an individual observes and replicates another's behavior.

A distinction should be made for human memetic transmission, which is not based on imitation, but on creativity to infer meaning and encode the message.
